The Australia spouse visa can be processed under different sub classes; these are 802, 801, 309, and 100.

• Under subclass 820, a temporary visa, you can stay in Australia, and after two years, you will be able to apply for a permit under 801.
• Under subclass 309, if you are still in a strong relationship for more than two years, you can apply for a permanent visa under the subclass 100. However, remember that to apply under this, you need to be outside of Australia.
